Purpose

Project Reef is committed to developing mineral-based sun protection products that align with our ingredient standards and product philosophy.

This policy outlines Project Reef’s approach to the use of oxybenzone and octinoxate in our sunscreen products.

Policy Statement

Project Reef does not formulate any of its sunscreen products with oxybenzone
(benzophenone-3) or octinoxate (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate).

All ProjectReef sunscreen products are formulated using non-nano zinc oxide as the active UV-filtering ingredient and are free from oxybenzone and octinoxate.

Product Development Standard

As part of our product development process:

• Oxybenzone and octinoxate are prohibitedingredients in all current and future Project Reef sunscreen formulations.
• Ingredient specifications are reviewed during product development and manufacturing.    
• New products and reformulations must comply with this policy prior to commercialization.

This policy applies to all Project Reef branded sunscreen products.

Project Reef currently utilizes packaging solutions that may include:

• Ocean-bound recycled plastic.
• Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
• Recyclable materials where appropriate.
• Non-aerosol packaging systems for select products.

Packaging materials and formats may evolve as new technologies and opportunities become available.
